At the first sharp bend in Guthrie Street, going downhill from Chambers Street, there’s a tiny street which is mostly a flight of steps, called Hatties Close.
The door on the left leads into The GRV, and through the gates at the bottom of the stair you can see the space that was left after the Great Fire of Edinburgh in December 2002.
