Zersenay Tadese Omni

The 36th IAAF World Cross Country Championships will take place in Holyrood Park tomorrow. I don’t know if Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea will be there, but he leaps out of the tall glass wall at the Omni Centre at top of Leith Walk, unmissable.

Zersenay Tadese was the winner of the Men’s Long Race at the 2007 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Mombasa: he ran 12 kilometers in 35 minutes 50 seconds. He also ran the Great North Run in 2005, won a bronze medal at the Olympics in Athens in 2004, and won the 10,000 m at the All-Africa Games in Algiers in 2007.
