Seven swans swimming
There’s a pair of mute swans on the Water of Leith that have been hatching a bevy there for years: this year there are seven cygnets swimming with their parents. (You can see the photos I took last year here.)
This photo is available on Redbubble: Swans on the river.

Sandport Bridge: A flurry of wings
Seagulls and pigeons, competing over some scraps, rise suddenly into the air as the photographer approaches. This picture was taken in January on the path beside the Water of Leith as it approaches Sandport Bridge: the houses by the Shore are seen beyond the rising birds.
I took this photo here. It’s available on Redbubble: A flurry of wings.

Water of Leith: swans
There is a breeding pair of mute swans whose territory is the Water of Leith, from the Shore up to Broughton. I see them almost every day.
This photo was taken here. It’s on Redbubble: Swan on the water.

Edinburgh Zoo: Sunday 2nd March

Okay: I like taking photos of too many things to have a zooblog, but I have loved wandering round this zoo and seeing what there is to be seen, for over thirty years. (The Google Maps link for Edinburgh Zoo is here.)
The Chilean flamingos share an enclosure with other South American birds, but they’re the most conspicuous:
